Best Game-Day Salsa EVER!

This is hands-down the best salsa recipe I have ever made. Simple ingredients and easy recipe! The secret ingredient is…

In anticipation of the big game this weekend–you’ve got to try this salsa recipe!  I literally could drink the stuff.  No really.  I LOVE SALSA.  The secret to better-tasting salsa is…wait for it…canned tomatoes.

Seriously, I have my own kitchen garden in the back yard; I grow my own fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, peppers, and more.  But, I always use canned tomatoes for salsa.  To me, it tastes a little sweeter and more savory.  If you prefer using only fresh tomatoes, please do!  (Try roasting them on the grill.)

Best Game-Day Salsa EVER!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Best Game-Day Salsa EVER!

  • 3 cans Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1/3 cup Diced Onion (Red or White)
  • 1/2 Jalapeño (or more, to taste)
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro (Diced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Juice of 1 squeezed Lime

  1. Blend all ingredients in blender for 10-20 seconds. I usually use the "pulse" button. If you blend too long, the ingredients become too liquefied.
  2. Sample after 10-20 seconds, if you like it spicier, add more jalapeños, then blend again for a few seconds.
  3. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips!

Most of the ingredients may be adjusted for taste. If you like it spicy, add more jalapeño. Have fun experimenting!

Have fun experimenting with the recipe, it’s super easy to tweak to your liking.  Let me know what you think!
